Staff are the backbone to the running of a business or company. They are the ones that make the daily operation of the business successful. Therefore the staff should be motivated to improve the productivity and increase the profits of the business in the long run.

The motivation of staff can be done by looking at the greatest strength of the staff. This should be focused on, more since it encourages them to work harder and feel appreciated. Try high motivation level that will encourage the employees to strive harder to reach the higher levels since all of them are capable. Seek for opinions of the kind of motivation that the staff expect. You will find out that what they need might not be what you had in mind. This will encourage them to work more productively since they feel their needs are catered for.

Teaching the staff to measure their own success helps them to keep track of their performances. It will encourage them to create their own score goals which will be used for effective management of the staff. Have measures that you use to track the performance and productivity of the staff. Include the staff in the planning and running of the business.

Ask them their opinions, goals and desires. They will most of the time raise what they can achieve and strive to reach it. Do not threaten the staff, instead talk to them in an understanding way then they will avoid repeating the same mistakes.
